Inspired by the 18th century shophouse boom during the colonial era, Shizusan’s story unfolds in our very own shophouse. Restaurant downstairs; a home-converted-into-a-bar upstairs and a menu that pays homage to the dishes you find in establishments across Southeast Asia. The ingredients used in them are fresh and honest. The techniques used to create them are true.
The food, cocktails and décor at the Asian Shophouse & Bar is inspired by Southeast Asian street food and travels across the rich-food cultures of China, Japan, Burma, Vietnam, Korea, Philippines, Malaysia and Thailand. The menu will focus on plates and bowls brimming with Southeast Asian ingredients and flavours, and will showcase a wide selection of Maki Rolls, classic Sashimi & Nigiri, Baos, Dim Sums including the Xiao Long Baos, Asian Curries like the Massaman and Laksa; Asian Street Food favourites like Satays, Karaage, Okonomiyaki; Stir Fried Noodles & Rice Bowls.
The abacus-inspired staircase leads to the second floor that houses a double height ceiling and a dedicated 27-ft-high bar with Sake, Soju, Japanese Whiskeys and Asian Cocktails.
